On 19 July, the Ambassador interacted with members of the Indian community and local diaspora association at Shiva Mandir, Nickerie, and briefed them on the upcoming event scheduled for 22 August 2025. He also presented a set of Hindi books under the Hindishala initiative to promote the Hindi language and introduce the younger generation to the rich heritage and diverse facets of the Indo-Surinamese community.
During the interaction, the Ambassador encouraged community members to avail themselves of the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card facility and highlighted its benefits for people of Indian origin. The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and foster greater awareness of India's linguistic and cultural heritage.
