Photo Gallery> High Commission of India, in close collaboration with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Indian Heritage Foundation, hosted a landmark event marking the 165th Indian Arrival Day.
The memorable day began with a symbolic re-enactment. Participants dressed in vibrant, traditional Indian attire, gathered at the Young Island Dock before journeying by boat to Indian Bay retracing the very waters crossed by our ancestors. Upon landing, a mock registration was held to simulate the historical arrival conditions faced by the pioneers who stepped off the ship Travancore on 1 June 1861.
We were profoundly honored by the presence of our Governor General, H.E. Sir Stanley K. John, who graced the event as our Chief Guest.
