Submission of Application and Fee

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

Step 1: Online submission of the application: Fill out the online application for surrender of Indian passport at the link https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/. Please read the following instructions carefully before filling and submitting the application on the portal.

  1. The personal particulars to be filled in the online application form should match exactly as per the latest Indian Passport. The photograph to be uploaded should be ICAO compliant and the signature should match as per the latest Indian passport. In case of minor applicant who cannot sign, thumb impression of the applicant is required to be uploaded. Parents should not upload their signature in the application for minor applicants. All fields and columns in the application form are mandatory and must be filled in completely. 
  2. Please note that it is mandatory to upload all the applicable supporting documents on the portal itself. Before uploading, the documents must be self-attested by the applicant and in case of minor applicant the documents are to be self-attested by both parents. It has come to the notice that applicants are not uploading all the applicable supporting documents since a maximum of five documents (including photograph and signature) are allowed to be uploaded on the portal. Hence, it is instructed that multiple supporting documents can be merged as a single pdf file and could be uploaded under any specific document type. The pdf file size may be compressed if the file size exceeds the limit. 

iii. Please bring all the original documents for verification. 

Note:

  1. After online submission of application form, no changes can be made manually or by scribbling over the form. In case of any error/changes, please fill a fresh new online application form
  2. The Embassy cannot edit or make any changes to the applicant’s online application form. 

Step 2: Physical submission of the application:

1.Submit the duly signed printout of the application for surrender of Indian passport along with the copies of supporting documents as per checklist with applicable fee at the Embassy of India, Paramaribo. Please bring all the original documents for verification.

2.Applications which are incorrect/incomplete shall not be accepted and the applicants have to obtain a fresh online appointment for submission of the application.

COLLECTION OF THE SURRENDER CERTIFICATE

The applicants will be informed through a telephone call from the Embassy once the Surrender Certificate is ready for collection. Once the call is received by the applicant, the Surrender Certificate could be collected on any working day Monday to Friday during the collection hours between 1400 to 1600 hours without any appointment. It could be collected either personally by the applicant or by an authorized representative with an Authorization Letter. The applicant/authorized representative must bring the original payment receipt.

FEE

The fee for the service is US$ 25/- (including ICWF).
