On 5 November 2024, Ambassador and H.E. Albert R. Ramdin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, and International Cooperation, in presence of H.E. Parmanand Sewdien, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries of the Republic of Suriname, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on setting up a fruit processing plant. The project is backed by the India-Caricom funding of USD 1 million to support the growth of Micro and Small Enterprises, create jobs, and enhance incomes within the Agri-processing value chain.
