Handing over of Quick Impact Project ‘Rehabilitation of the Netball Hard-court at Edinboro’

Coinciding with the 165th Indian Arrival Day in the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, High Commissioner of India, H. E. Subhash P. Gupta handed over Quick Impact Project ‘Rehabilitation of the Netball Hard-court at Edinboro’ in a ceremony organised by the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on 01 June 2026.

The Quick Impact Project ‘Rehabilitation of the Netball Hard-court at Edinboro’ has been completed under the grant initiative of the Government of the Republic of India, was handed over to the community. The plaque was jointly unveiled by H.E. Hon. Fitzgerald Bramble, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment, and Diaspora Affairs and the Indian High Commissioner, H. E. Subhash P. Gupta.

The Netball Hard-Court handing over was also attended by the Hon’ble Minister of Health, Wellness, Environmental Health and Energy (also the Parliamentary Representative for the Consistency of West Kingstown), representatives of the Implementation Partner BRAGSA, the senior officials of the government, and members of Indian Diaspora. The Nerball Hard Court Project in Edinboro was carried out at the cost of USD 49,955. It is pertinent to mention that Edinboro carries immense historical weight as the gateway for East Indian heritage in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Its harbor was the anchoring point for the Travancore, the first ship of Indian immigrants to arrive on the island in 1861.

The High Commissioner of India congratulated the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the implementation partners for ensuring the successful completion of the projects in timely manner. He said that India would continue with its commitment to South-South partnership and inclusive global growth where the benefits of prosperity were shared among the largest number of people in keeping with the true ethos of India's philosophy “Vasudaiva Kutumbakam” or the whole world is one family.

The government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, recognized the assistance of India and conveyed thanks for the grant initiatives and further expressed confidence that the other ongoing initiatives will also be carried out and implemented in timely manner for the benefit of society.
